Ryan's Big Boy Debut

Ryan has BIG NEWS! He's finally potty-trained and has started a preschool program called Apples to Zebras. It's a 2 morning/week program that's run by the City of Chandler Park and Rec. Dept. He's been excited to go to his own "school" and pack his own backback with his show and tell each week. He's doing well. There were no tears the first week, but today brought some screaming. I suspect he'll test us a bit to make sure we'll be coming back for him. It's only 2 hours long, so it doesn't give Mom much of a break. :(

Here he is...my BIG BOY...packing his backpack with his Show and Tell for the day. It's a big job, but someone's got to do it.

Ethan and Ryan have decided that they'd like to sleep in the same room. Now we use the term "sleep" very loosely, as there's a LOT of giggling that goes on at bedtime, but they enjoy being close to one another. They helped me come up with all of the rules pertaining to the bunkbeds, so they should be more apt to follow them, right??? Time will tell. Ryan still runs to Mom and Dad's bed in the middle of the night, although LAST NIGHT, he must have felt too crowded, so he crawled over me and ran back to his own bed at about 4am. Too cute.

Ethan had his first run in with the law last week. As we were preparing for bedtime, brushing teeth, reading stories, etc., Ethan came around the corner from the master bedroom and told Michael that he knew how to "spell 9-1-1". Michael thought nothing of it and told him, "That's great...you need to know that." Fast forward 10 minutes later, there's a knock on the door with 2 of Chandler's Finest wondering why there was a hang up 9-1-1 call. Of course, there was screaming coming from upstairs since the boys were fighting over a book to read, so the Police Officers felt it wise to come in to check things out. Ethan was TERRIFIED, but learned a good lesson. The cops were very kind to him and let him off with a warning. They told him that they're proud of him for knowing how to dial it, but that he needs to wait for a real emergency and only dial it if Mom and Dad cannot. Apparently this sort of thing happens a lot.
